Anthony T. Lo Sasso, a professor at the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the lead researcher of a study published in the February issue of Health Affairs. The study found that among doctors:
- Female doctors receive lower starting salaries than male doctors with the same specialty.
- Men got higher starting salaries in every specialty.
- The wage gap is continuing to worsen, even though women are choosing higher-paying specialties.
